The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved CUSTOMFLEX @ ARTIFICIALIRIS now. It is the only Iris prosthesis approved by FDA in US, used for children and adults. Patient having missing iris since birth or following trauma, face great difficulty to cope up with inability to control the incoming light. Its a breakthrough device for patients suffering from symptomatic aniridia.
