Next Generation Omni® Surgical System Launched For Microinvasive Glaucoma Surgery
Sight Sciences, Inc. has launchedtheir new generation OMNI® Surgical System for microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) procedures. Its a manually operated device for ab interno trabeculotomy and also for transluminal trabeculotomy. It acts on aqueous humor outflow resistance – trabecular meshwork, Schlemm’s canal and distal collector channels. Though it’s stillnot FDA approved for open angle glaucoma patients but several large-scale, multi-center retrospective and prospective MIGS clinical studies are evaluating the OMNI Surgical System in their advanced stages. It has good reviews from surgeons using the device. OMNI Surgical System has shownsignificant reductions in intraocular pressure (IOP).
